2008 Elite Selection Playoff: Week Thirteen
The season is winding down and the BCS picture is becoming more and more clear. With so many one-loss teams a controversy is brewing, but a lot (albeit not all) should be settled with the conference championships.
Visit these links to see the prior releases of the ESP for weeks eight, nine, ten, eleven, and twelve. After next week the AV Ranking will be used to predict the winners of the conference championships followed by the winner of the BCS national championship and other BSC games.
Elite Selection Playoff
The ESP looks very similar to the BCS with a few exceptions.
Texas and Oklahoma are reversed in the ESP, with Texas getting the edge due to the number one AV Ranking. Additionally, USC is ranked behind Texas Tech in the ESP, while Utah trails Penn State and Texas Tech.

Strength of Schedule
Washington dropped out of the top spot due to their game with in-state rival Washington State. The Longhorns come in at number two and are the only top 10 ESP team with a top 10 strength of schedule.
The Irish dip to a season low 101st in the strength of schedule rankings. That number figures to move North after their season finale against USC but likely still won’t be respectable by the season’s end.

AV Ranking
The AV Ranking has Texas at the top spot for the eighth straight week. Oklahoma follows with Texas Tech in the third spot. The Big 12 has three teams topping the charts largely due to them only losing one game to each other and favorable strength of schedule resumes.
Notre Dame comes in at number 70 in the AV Ranking, a travesty for a team playing the 101st toughest schedule.
